July - October 2019
Another busy 4 months has passed, so below is just a brief highlight of what we have been up to!
We have continued to develop new workshops in response to requests, which we have facilitated in the regions and in the metropolitan area. The titles of these workshops are:
Toddler actions, parent reactions
Parenthood, love and stress
Gut-Brain-Mental Health Connection. We were really excited to present the latest research on the Gut-Brain-Mental Health connection at the University of West Australia's extension program.
We have facilitated many workshops focused on building resilience in children and young people. We are currently working on a workshop for next year titled: Bracing for change, which is aimed at promoting resilience in adults professionals.
As part of our contract with The Australian Medical Association (AMA), we commenced facilitating nationally accredited training in Peer Support Work Skill Set at Casuarina prison. These workshops have been attended by Peer Support Workers - they are part of an innovative program that reduces recidivism and provide lived experience support for incarceration and/or mental health issues.
